Forgotten Faces and Places of Muncie

This program will feature maps, historic photographs, newspaper articles, and diary entries related to some of the interesting people and beautiful buildings that shaped Muncie’s history and culture. For example, did you know the youngest pilot in Indiana in 1932 lived in Muncie? Did you know Muncie was the home of the first female allowed to photograph the IHSAA Boys Basketball Championship? And what buildings did Frederick Douglass see when he visited Muncie? This presentation will feature custom maps created by the Ball State University Libraries GIS Research and Map Collection.
